Starting Our Family

The reality of infertility, IVF and donor eggs

About Me

Thank you for visiting my blog.  If you would like to reach me via email you can do so at

You can also follow me on Twitter @blahblahblog3

My blog will remain mostly anonymous for now but here’s a little about me and our journey…

I’ve been in a relationship with Mike for almost 4 years.  We originally met in high school (20 + years ago).  With us each having a marriage and divorce under our belts, we reconnected and here we are living at the Jersey Shore and trying to start a family.  Currently our family consists of 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 ferrets and 9 fish.

We entered the IVF world in June 2012.  After 3 unsuccessful cycles with my own eggs we recently (March 2013) made the move to the donor egg world.  Our 1st donor egg transfer (July 2013) resulted in a chemical.  Our 2nd transfer (FET) (Oct 31, 2013) seems to be working so far- fingers crossed this is our baby!
I started to blog because I used to love to write.  I stopped writing years ago because I didn’t have the time and didn’t think I had much to say.  Well now I have plenty to say- sometimes even too much.  I still don’t have the time but I try to make time.  There is so much going on inside my body and brain that if I don’t get out at least the brain part I will explode!  Writing is such a stress reliever.  It also helps me to sort out my emotions.  It’s my own form of psychological therapy.

Initially my blogging was a way to help myself.  I’ve found out from numerous emails that I’m actually helping other people as well.  I’m glad to see something positive has been able to come out of my struggles.  I used to not care if anyone read what I wrote.  Now I hope that people read it and when they do they are left feeling like they wrote it themselves.

My blog is the raw reality of dealing with infertility.  My writing is emotional, not technical, and definitely R rated.  It is my soapbox and my outlet.  I invite you to follow us on our journey which will hopefully have a “Happily Ever After”.

For those of you interested in the nitty gritty…
