Genetic Testing

I had the conference call with the genetic counselor regarding our blood work.  They tested our blood for 103 diseases to make sure we are not carriers.  They test for things like cystic fibrosis, sickle cell and stuff like that.  In order for our children to potentially have the disease we would both need to be carriers.  Luckily I tested negative for all of them.  M tested to be a carrier of some very very rare disease that could cause cancer in children.  Doesn’t matter though because I’m not a carrier so that’s one more hurdle we’ve passed.
